Karen Taylor

Karen is no stranger to the incredible work of the Hospice Care at Home team, as in her previous role as a Clinical Nurse Specialist at St Richards Hospice she worked alongside our nurses.

Karen’s passion has always been Palliative Care and in 1994 she was privileged to be appointed as the first Macmillan Palliative Care Nurse at Worcester Royal Hospital. Over the years the team developed and expanded.

She moved from this post when an exciting opportunity arose as Manager of the Blood Bourne Virus Team, providing an umbrella service in the community and acute setting, supporting the prisons and drug and alcohol services. She was also able to maintain a clinical role in Viral Hepatitis, screening and treating.

When not at work Karen fills her time with family and friends, including her seven-month-old grandson, Arnie, and her long walks with her Irish Terrier, Paddy.
