Men In Sheds

Campden Home Nursing is always keen to partner with local groups to strengthen community ties. In this spirit we have joined forces with Cotswold Friends to bring a Men in Sheds facility, based at Jecca’s House, to Chipping Campden.

This is a shed (or in our case a double garage!) where men (and ladies) can go to potter and build things such as bat and bird boxes to sell to the community, whilst meeting people in a similar situation whether that is bereaved, lonely, isolated, managing their own illness or caring for someone with a life threatening illness. The support and comfort offered by spending company in with others in the same boat, is of great value.

Connect, converse and create

Men in Sheds is a community spaces for men and ladies to connect, converse and create. The activities are often similar to those of garden sheds, but for groups of men to enjoy together. They help reduce loneliness and isolation, but most importantly, they’re fun. All will be welcome for a chat accompanied by a mug of tea, biscuits or a bacon butty!

Shed members use and share valuable practical skills to work on both community and individual projects. But the real value of the shed is the uplifting camaraderie and peer support that the shed environment provide.
