On Saturday, October 26th, the spirit of Chipping Campden shone brightly as locals and visitors from as far as Devon came together to celebrate Apple Day at Jecca’s House and Wolds End Orchard. The day was brimming with autumn festivities, from garden games to delicious homemade treats, creating an atmosphere of joy and unity. Families, friends, and neighbours gathered to enjoy the season and support shared causes, raising essential funds for Campden Home Nursing and Wolds End Orchard. The Orchard and Jecca’s House buzzed with community energy, making it a memorable day.
Heartfelt Thanks to Our Volunteers and Supporters Apple Day’s success was made possible by our dedicated volunteers and local supporters. Campden Home Nursing’s new CEO, Steven Marshall, shared, “It was wonderful to see so many enjoying Jecca’s House and Wolds End Orchard. We couldn’t have done it without everyone’s support. It was the highlight of my first week.”

Community Spirit and Generosity
We are immensely grateful to everyone who bought tombola tickets, Christmas cards, and generously supported our Christmas raffle. Prizes are now worth over £2,000!
Special thanks also go to the families, friends, and the dedicated team at Wolds End Orchard.
The event was a chance for Campden Home Nursing to introduce new CEO, Steven, to the community. We will continue to focus on our mission of providing end of life care in patients’ homes, and bereavement support alongside ensuring that Jecca’s House continues to be a “doors always open” hub for patients, carers, and their families.
Wolds End Orchard’s popular longest Peel competition was keenly fought with a record breaking 235 cm peel! Fruit specialist Steve Oram identified many varieties of apples. Cider tasting and the apple crisping proved popular, so too the local honey, also produced in Wolds End. Visitors picked their own fruit wandering freely in the orchard.
The 2024 harvest of Apple Juice went down a treat. It is still available to buy, and the proceeds are for the orchard’s running costs.
Over £1,000 raised
Apple Day was a resounding success, bringing our community together in celebration and support. Through your generosity we raised £1,004.
Thank you to all who contributed their time, energy, and dedication to making this event possible. The community spirit at Jecca’s House and Wolds End Orchard has shown that, together, we truly are the core of Chipping Campden.
