Dying Matters Awareness Week

Let’s talk about death and dying

We are inviting our local community to get talking about death, dying, and bereavement during this year’s Dying Matters Awareness Week (4–10 May 2026).

Every year, people across the UK use Dying Matters Awareness Week, led by Hospice UK, as a moment to encourage open and honest conversations in whatever way feels right for them.

Death, dying and bereavement affect us all. Yet many people still find it difficult to talk about death with family or friends, and a significant number feel unable to share their emotions. When we avoid these conversations, it can make it harder to cope when we are faced with loss.

Locally in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire, demand for end of life care continues to grow as our population ages, highlighting just how important compassionate community-based support is.

The aim of Dying Matters is to help break down the stigma and taboo around talking about death and dying, and to encourage conversations with family, friends, colleagues, and within our wider community.

At Campden Home Nursing, we provide compassionate, at home end of life care for people locally, supporting patients and families with dignity, comfort, and care when it matters most.

Together, we can help make conversations about death and dying a little easier.
