Honouring 35 Years of Service

By Steven Marshall, CEO February 1st 2026

“2025 was a busy and significant year at Campden Home Nursing. It marked 35 years since our founder, Jecca Brook, brought Hospice at Home care to this community.

We delivered 8,909 hours of end-of-life nursing, with almost 200 people on our case load. We also saw a marked increase in nursing support in and around Chipping Campden.

Our bereavement counselling, delivered from the Bereavement Cabin at Jecca’s House, provided nearly 400 sessions. There has been a substantial increase in play therapy of nearly 50% to 606 sessions. This specialist therapeutic support is for children aged 4 to 13 facing bereavement, anticipatory loss, or the serious illness of someone close to them.  We have just opened a centre in Stow on the Wold, and the need for specialist bereavement support for children continues to grow. This is funded from a separate income source from the rest of the charity.

We remain deeply grateful to Jecca Brook for her vision and are very proud to be able to carry on the charitable work she began.

Every day I come to work, I am humbled by the commitment and compassion of our team. After a long career in the private sector and NHS, I am overwhelmed by our nurses who demonstrate such humanity in the care they give to patients and families. The same is true of our therapists who support both children and adults.

I would also like to pay tribute to our 48 volunteers. They work in our charity shop, help run fundraising and community events, maintain our garden for the enjoyment of visitors, help with administration and support wellbeing activities. Their willingness to give their time is inspiring and deeply appreciated.

Thank you to everyone for your support in 2025. We enjoyed a wonderful year of events, including coffee mornings, the Chicken Run, Open Gardens, village fetes, Campden Apple Day and our 35th Anniversary Christmas Concert. We are also grateful to Broadway Golf Club, whose captain chose us as Charity of the Year. Our thanks also go to the many individuals and groups who organised their own events and fundraisers for us. To list every act of kindness would fill The Bulletin!

So, a heartfelt thank you from all of us at Campden Home Nursing. Your generosity helps us continue our vital work. We depend on the funds raised at events and from the community to provide care.”
