Get Creative This Autumn and Winter at Jecca’s House
There is something especially satisfying about making something by hand – and this autumn and winter brings plenty of opportunities to get creative while supporting a local charity. Check out our new workshop programme.
A new programme of creative fundraising workshops is coming to Campden Home Nursing, Jecca’s House – Community Support & Wellbeing Centre in Chipping Campden, with everything from Christmas card printing and watercolour painting to sewing and festive bauble making.
First up is the Christmas Card Block Printing Workshop on Wednesday 16 September, 10 – 11:30 am. Led by Emma from Mooch in Chipping Campden, this relaxed workshop is a chance to learn the art of block printing and create six individual Christmas cards to take home and make a Christmas cracker. At £20 per person, the price includes tuition, all materials and refreshments, with just 10 places available. You could choose to get some copies printed. Local Vale Press is working with us.
Getting organised for Christmas in September may feel a little early – but handmade cards are one job that can be happily ticked off the list!
Then, on Monday 26 October, 2 – 4:30 pm, comes something a little different: the Paint Your House Art Workshop. Participants will create a beautiful pen and watercolour picture of their own home or favourite cottage. Whether it is a much-loved family home, a Cotswold cottage or somewhere with particularly special memories, the finished painting will make a wonderfully personal keepsake.
The workshop costs £25 per person, including materials, tuition, hot drinks and homemade cake. Places are particularly limited, with room for just eight people.
The programme continues towards Christmas with an Advent Calendar Sewing Workshop on 20 and 27 November, followed by a Christmas Bauble Workshop on 4 December, complete with hot drinks and homemade mince pies.
These workshops are designed to be welcoming and enjoyable, whether you are already a keen maker or simply fancy trying something new. They are also important fundraising events, with every booking helping to support the work of Campden Home Nursing and its hospice care in the comfort of people’s own homes.
