Shepherds Close is blooming lovely!

The beautiful garden at Shepherds Close, Chipping Campden, was  due to open to the public on 22nd May. Sadly, due to Coronavirus, this will not now be taking place. However, we recently caught up with owner, Rita Down, to ask how the garden was coming along, so we could update fans of the garden.

Rita opens the garden annually, in memory of her husband Roger, who was a passionate and talented gardener. She generously donates the ticket sales to Campden Home Nursing. This gorgeous hidden gem is 3 acres of beautifully kept and imaginatively planted grounds.

Rita said: “At this time of the year, the garden springs to life, almost overnight. The daffodils and other Spring bulbs have all bloomed and the blossom on the trees glorious. The peonies are out early this year and the azaleas are about to appear. We did a lot of new interesting and different planting earlier this year, including the addition of some new trees, and it’s all starting to come to fruition. I’ve been quarantine over the last couple of months, like everyone, but my garden has been a great comfort.”

We are so sorry you won’t be able to enjoy the garden this Spring, but hopefully these photos will lift your spirits and inspire all garden enthusiasts.
