August’s News

Open Day, Saturday 11th September 2021

The latest news from Campden Home Nursigng -Jecca's House Open Day

Come and see what we are doing at Jecca’s House and the services we will be offering. Refreshments will be served and we look forward to welcoming you.

Our lovely neighbours in the Wold’s End Orchard will be open too as a joint community venture.  If anyone would like to stroll around the orchard and then come into Jecca’s garden for tea and cake, then we would love to meet you too. There is a gate at the top of the orchard which will be open into our garden on the day.

We have currently been welcoming patients and their carers into Jecca’s in a controlled manner, while we will still be monitoring the Covid situation carefully and taking precautions. From September our program of support groups will begin and details of these can be found on the website from August 1st.

We will be starting our Bereavement Support Group back up on the last Friday of every month 10-12pm. A Carers’ lunch group once a month. More details of both will be available at www.campdenhomenursing.org. If you are bereaved or caring for someone with a life-threatening illness and you are interested in joining either groups, please contact Ali, our Centre Manager on 01386 840505. We will also be running crafting groups, gardening groups and a book club too.

Strengthening Community Links

We are keen to link up with as many local groups as possible to strengthen community ties. In the last month we have made progress in joining forces with both Cotswold Friends and The Chipping Campden Community Trust.

We have signed a partnership agreement with Cotswold Friends to bring a ‘Men in Sheds’ facility to Chipping Campden. This is a shed (or in our case a double garage!) where men (and ladies) can go to potter and build things such as bat and bird boxes to sell to the community. They will be able to meet people in a similar situation – whether that is bereaved, lonely, isolated, managing their own illness or caring for someone with a life threatening illness. All will be welcome for a chat accompanied by a mug of tea, biscuits or a bacon butty!

We are now going to be working with two lovely Benefits Advisors, funded by a grant from Chipping Campden Community Trust.  They will offer support to our patients and carers. We are also talking to two other community groups about collaborations to benefit residents going forward and should have more information for you next month.
