January’s news from Campden Home Nursing

Firstly, we’d like to wish the Chipping Campden community a happy New Year.

It’s fair to say that against the backdrop of a pandemic, we will continue to face challenges in 2022. But, in these uncertain times, just as over the last two years, we continue to be extremely proud of our nursing team and their dedication to our patients and their families.

Our latest nursing figures for 2021 are in, and we’d love to share them with you:

· We provided 6,775 free nursing hours to the community.

· We supported 64 people with free bereavement counselling.

· We provided 300 hours of free bereavement counselling.

· In 2021 Campden Home Nursing supported 272 families across three services.

· Our Cancer Support Service made contact 3604 times with people who needed them.

In 2022 we look forward to continuing the provision of free Hospice at Home care for those with a life limiting illness, and holistic support for their families and carers. After a fantastic start in 2021, we also look forward to growing our Cancer Support Service, which provides information, support and comfort for touched by a recent cancer or life limiting diagnosis.

An award-winning Charity

At the end of last year, we were delighted to receive a Covid Heroes Award from Cllr Mrs Sue Amor, the Lady Mayor of Evesham, and The Cluer HR Team of the Year Award at the Concierge Medical Business and Young Entrepreneurs Awards Ceremony.

The Covid Heroes Award was given to the nursing team by the Mayor of Evesham in recognition of their commitment to patient care during the pandemic.

The Concierge Medical Business and Young Entrepreneurs Awards Chipping Campden 2021, are a celebration of the outstanding businesses located in the north Cotswolds and a recognition of the commercial stars of the future. The winners of the 2021 Concierge Medical Business and Young Entrepreneurs Awards were announced by Loyd Grossman at the Cotswold House Hotel on Tuesday 23rd November.

Shop News

Our new Manager, Sam Phillips, has settled in well and hopefully many of you will have met her by now. Our shop continues to thrive, thanks to the support of the local community and our dedicated volunteers.

For the last few months, we have been temporarily closed on Sundays. However, we are now open again, seven days a week.

Jecca’s Joggers

A team of four brave nurses from Campden Home Nursing are running the Hampton Court Half Marathon on 20th March 2022. Heather Mitchell, our Head of Nursing Services, Dawn Hetherington, Michelle Allen and Esther Newman will be raising money for Campden Home Nursing.

We would love it if you could sponsor them! Every penny raised will go towards helping Campden Home Nursing to continue to provide free registered nursing care for those living with a life limiting illness who wish to be cared for at home, and holistic support for their families and carers. You can donate at here.
