Our Nursing Team

Campden Home Nursing has an outstanding team of registered nurses who are supported by Health Care Assistants (HCAs). They are all carefully selected for their aptitude and skill in palliative care. They are held in the highest regard by the families we help. The team provides invaluable support for the families and their loved ones during a very difficult time.

Head of Nursing Services, Heather Barley (Mitchell)

Heather Barley (Mitchell) oversees both our Hospice at Home Service and the Serious Illness Support Service. She is a registered nurse,  passionate about community based palliative care. She has worked in Primary care for most of her nursing career as a District Nurse, Practice Nurse and as a Hospice at Home Nursing Manager.

Heather was awarded the title of Queen’s Nurse in 2008, one of only 40 such nurses in the country at that time. This was a formal recognition of her commitment to promoting the highest standards of patient care within the Hospice at Home setting.

She has previously spent three years on the Executive Committee at the National Association for Hospice at Home, only leaving to spend time with her newly adopted children. Following her break, she re-joined the Association in 2015 as a Trustee.
