Our Doors are Open

From September the doors of Jecca’s House will be open to those with a cancer diagnosis or a life-limiting illness, and those caring for someone in this situation. We are very excited to be offering a full program of support groups which will form a source of comfort and community for people in similar situations, enabling them to share experiences, ask questions or simply to have a chat and explore new hobbies. Some examples of things we will be putting on are art classes, craft classes, gardening groups, book clubs and film afternoons. You can view the timetable here. If you are interested in joining either or any of these groups then please contact Ali, our Centre Manager on 01386 840505.

Community Partnership

Our Men in Sheds facility (our new partnership enterprise with Cotswold Friends), will hold its first meeting on 7th September 2021. If you’d like to get involved, please contact: Rob Platts on tel: 01608 698557, email sheds@cotswoldfriends.org.

Thanks to a partnership with Chipping Campden Community Trust we now have two Benefits Advisors who work with our patients to advise on benefit issues.

Jecca’s Story

Jecca’s Story, a book by our much-loved founder, Jecca Brook, is now available at our charity shop at Lower High Street and you can buy it here. Completed just before her sudden death, the book is the story of how Jecca started Campden Home Nursing, 30 years ago. It is a personal reflection on end-of-life care and the challenges faced by nurses providing this specialist nursing care. It is also a poignant reminder of the wonderful work done by Jecca, her gentle humour and her immense heart.

Thank you…

A huge thank you to Lower Clopton Farm Shop and Café who have been supporting Campden Home Nursing by offering customers a ‘Pick Your Own Sunflowers’ service when their field of golden sunflowers comes into bloom. We really appreciate their support and generosity. As it has been such a success and there are plenty of flowers left, the pick your own sunflower service has been extended to run throughout September.
