Campden Home Nursing now has 22 outstanding nurses who are all carefully selected for their aptitude and skill in this specific area of work and are held in the highest regard by the families that we help. They provide invaluable support for the families and loved ones of the patients during a very difficult time.
Our nurses are all highly trained, experienced, registered nurses. It’s of utmost importance that they keep up to date with the latest industry training and they regularly attend seminars, study days and expert talks.
Heather Mitchell oversees both our hospice at home service and the Cancer Support Service. She is a registered nurse who is passionate about the provision of community based palliative care. She has worked in Primary care for most of her nursing career as a District Nurse, Practice Nurse ad a Hospice at Home Nursing Manager.
Heather was awarded the title of Queens Nurse in 2008, one of only 40 such nurses in the country at that time, as formal recognition of her commitment to promoting the highest standards of patient care within the Hospice at Home setting.
Heather has previously spent three years on the Executive Committee at the National Association for Hospice at Home, only leaving to spend time with her newly adopted children. She re-joined the Association in 2015 as a Trustee and took up the position of Co Chair in 2017.
Emily’s background has been in district nursing since qualifying as a registered nurse in February 2009, with a first class honours degree.
Emily began nursing for us in 2018, having decided to focus solely on end of life care. Later, she developed an interest in clinical governance within the charity, and she was promoted in April 2020 to Deputy Manager, Nursing Services.
It is the policy of Campden Home Nursing to provide the highest standard of care as should be expected from professional registered nurses. However, if you would like to make a complaint, please view our complaints procedure here.
