Rest in peace, Jecca Brook, founder of Campden Home Nursing

Jecca Brook, 1937-2020

It is with great sadness we announce our much loved founder, Jecca, passed away this morning, very peacefully, with her family around her.

For those of you that had the joy of knowing her, you will understand what a loss this is to her family, friends, the charity and Chipping Campden. For those who  never had the honour of meeting her, she was the most wonderful, generous lady you could wish to meet with an incredible sense of humour. She started the charity 30 years ago to nurse the terminally ill so they could remain in their own home at the end of life.  She would often tell me that she had two great loves in her life, her family and Campden Home Nursing.

All of us in the charity will miss her dreadfully. She loved to hear what was happening and of all the developments within the charity, I know that she was incredibly happy and proud of the work our amazing nursing and bereavement teams have been doing and how much the charity has grown to support so many more patients and families over the years. Jecca also loved the shop! She had always wanted a charity shop and was thrilled when we opened it. She visited often and rarely left without buying something!

We will continue to build and strengthen what we have and develop new services in her memory and she will always be there with us in spirit and on the wall of our offices in a lovely new portrait that will now have even greater meaning.
